Family Series: Once Upon A Ballet           SALE ENDS AUGUST 31                  

GROUNDBREAKING in its programming and execution, NYTB's wildly popular Once Upon A Ballet series provides entertaining storybook ballets meticulously rendered in miniature. Our traditional Nutcracker and Cinderella classics, as well as new works such as Sleeping Beauty are only one hour in length - perfectly suited to the attention span of our youngest audience members, yet sophisticated enough for the most discerning adult.

The Nutcracker

Choreographed by Keith Michael, NYTB’s production is the only hour long professional Nutcracker in NYC created especially for children.  This Nutcracker is a holiday treat for families.  Based on the English Toy Theatre of the early 19th Century, NYTB’s Nutcracker has been performed at Gould Hall, around the City and on national tour since 1985. (ages 3-12)

Sleeping Beauty NEW!

A world premiere production, choreographed by James Sutton for NYTB, the ballet promises to bring the charm and mystery of Princess Aurora’s 16th birthday, the enchanted spell, and the delightful wedding, complete with the perfect storybook happy ending. (ages 3-12)

The Magic of Dance

This series features Carnival of the Animals, a surprise ballet plus an interactive dance workshop. Children will be invited to take part in a lecture-demonstration, focusing on the creative elements of the ballets.  They will be given a take-home bag of props to assist them in the learning process. (ages 3-10)

Cinderella

A dancing clock, two wacky stepsisters and everyone’s favorite rags-to-riches princess are all part of this magical story. A perennial favorite of NYTB audiences across America, Cinderella is one hour in length with choreography by Donald Mahler to the famous Prokofiev music. (ages 3-12)
